3.2 km

3 stations

This sleek SL5 train was built by the British Firm Severn-Lamb Limited (see Links). The system is located at a new development outside Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Known as Sunway City, the area includes hotels, a theme park, condominiums, a college, an industrial park and a shopping center. All are being served by the peoplemover class monorail system. Reported cost of the first loop and trains was $10 million. Two trains run on the steel-tracked loop system. Plans for later phases of the development include two additional monorail loops. All three loops will have interconnecting stations. This monorail is featured in our Monorails of Malaysia DVD.
