For the KL monorail, the Hitachi transmission voltage is 33kV. The rectifiers are located at three sites and provide a total of 28,000 kW each. Each traction substation has a 280kW resistor load bank to handle the regenerative braking. The signal system is an ADtranz fixed block signaling system (http://www.adtranz.com/adtranz/e/products/34signal.htm). Trains operate in a semi-automatic mode with ATP protection.
