The Las Vegas Monorail System is a 3.9 mile dual-beam line that connects the MGM Grand with the Sahara Hotel Casino. Stations located along the route are at Bally's/Paris, Flamingo Hilton, Harrah's/Imperial Palace, the Las Vegas Hilton and the Las Vegas Convention Center. Granite Construction Company of Watsonville, California built the guideway and stations. Bombardier supplied monorail trains and related control systems.

The Las Vegas Monorail is the first fully automated large-scale monorail in the United States. It is the first privately-financed transit system built in the USA since World War II. As detailed in the informative article listed to the right, "The Las Vegas Monorail: A Unique Rapid Transit Project for a Unique City," the monorail was funded by tax-free bonds without expense to taxpayers.
