Scomi & Seattle ALWEG

The Scomi monorail trains are descendents of the original ALWEG design, and consequently share a lot of their features. Each car has 2 bogies with a straddle-type truck. Because of the standard bogie design, walk-though between cars is provided (as in Seattle). To provide a smooth ride, the straddle-type bogie design features full vertical pneumatic and shock absorber suspension, plus progressive stiffness lateral suspension. Traction motors are connected to the axle through CV joint shafts.
