The train design, arguably the best-looking Hitachi monorails to date, was picked by Daegu citizens from three choices.

Do we have to say it again? Yes we do... Monorail operates separate from auto and pedestrian traffic. Monorail is therefore faster and safer. Little ground space is needed for pylons, especially as compared to street rail systems.

At one major intersection, this arch was designed to provide a long, pylon-free span over traffic.

The same intersection bridge, as seen from Manpyeong Station. The long span is steel, while shorter spans are reinforced concrete.

Near Gongdan Station, an amazing structure becomes visible to the northwest.

Crossing the Geumho River is this beautiful monorail-only bridge.

The three-tower bridge was designed and built by Hyundai Engineering and Construction.

North of the Geumho Bridge are many condominium and apartment complexes. Residents take advantage of the monorail station's proximity and ride it to many destinations of Daegu.

In this suburban area, the monorail gracefully follows the Sincheon River

Maecheon Market Station is one of seven riverside stations in northwest Daegu.
