another Monorail Society
Exclusive!
On February 26th, 2004, David M. Ice and I were hosted
by the kind people of KL Monorail. A presentation was made for
us on the history of the system, as well a look at plans for the
future of the company. We had the pleasure of meeting with David
Chew, Chairman of MTrans, who's office has a spectacular view
looking down upon the monorail as it meanders along the Kelang
River. We discussed the status of monorail throughout the world,
and Mr. Chew expressed his support of what the Monorail
Society is doing to spread the word.
Just inside the front door of Wisma Monorail is this

MTrans and Kuala Lumpur Monorail staff were wonderful hosts to
us, especially these folks pictured here.
Monorail City, as envisioned by model makers. When
complete, it will consist of 30,000 square feet of food and retail
space. Tun Sambanthan Station is to right.
As I mentioned earlier, Chairman David Chew and MTrans
employees have a terrific view from the Wisma Monorail building.
An ultra-modern control room allows technicians to
monitor all aspects of operations.
The center screen shows a diagram of the monorail maintenance
and storage depot, which is where we're going next.
